The U.S. Coast Guard has confirmed that M/Y Miracle caught fire on March 15 and all six crew were transported safely to San Juan, Puerto Rico.
The 115-foot built by Monte Fino, caught fire early Tuesday morning according to USCG Public Affairs Specialist Mark Barney.
The incident happened “60 nautical miles northwest of Borinquen, Puerto Rico,” Barney said.
Six people were all safely disembarked on a tender they were towing and were then transferred to sector San Juan according to Barney.
“It was partially submerged,” Barney said about the status of the last report released about the vessel.
There were three people onboard from the U.S., two from Australia and one from South Africa, Barney reported.
According to Marinetraffic.com, the yacht left Ft. Lauderdale on March 11 and was heading to Antigua. @the-triton.
